Second session

Today we visited the playroom for the second time. As we didn't have much time, we could only play a game. They did a great job as a team and I think they had fun.

Alphabet soup is a game played in groups of 4 or 5 students consisting of filling in an A3 piece of paper using different vocabulary from different semantic fields. It is a great activity to review all they've already learned. I did this with years 5 and 6.

Here are some photographs.

Year 4, on the other hand, rotated and practised several skills according to each corner. We had tongue twisters, ICT, Christmas cards, readers...

See for yourselves!

Our first session

Last week, as a grand opening,  we had our first session in the English playroom.
The class was divided into different groups according to the different skills used in each corner.
We had a large carpet for the kids to read a book comfortably. There was also an art corner where the students coloured some flags to make pennants with them for decoration. Another activities involved playing with board games or using the digital board or the regular one. Some students had the chance to design word search activities for the younger children as well. And, last but not least, our language assistant helped the kids to speak fluently in English.

Our English playroom is finally open!

Hello, everybody! I bring good tidings today. Our playroom will open its doors next Monday. There, our students will have the chance to continue learning and refreshing their English while they have fun. They will find different activities and playing areas such as the reading corner, the art corner, ICT games on the digital board, the writing area, the speaking corner, board games, role-playing...

Although we started with a Halloween-related activity, its main purpose as a learning area will start this week. There are still some decorations to finish, but all the activities are prepared to welcome our students.

Kind regards.

A haunted house for Halloween

This year I've decided to create a haunted house in the English playroom for the kids. It was hard work, but it came out great in the end... or at least I think so.

My dear students told me they had a blast, and this was my reward, of course! I know it wasn't a theme park, but with tons of energy and good humour, we had lots of fun.

Thank you so much for participating and for behaving so well. It has been an amazing experience!
