About history

Here you will find a list of links and videos for you to watch at home. This selection is related to what we just talked in class. If you remember, we had a conversation about Ancient Egypt, Rome and China, dinosaurs, books, films and even clonation, he he. I have to say that my students from 6th are very eager to learn and show interest in practically everything. For a teacher this is very motivating and rewarding, and this helps me to want to improve myself and work harder and harder each day. Thanks!!!

  • Animal Armageddon: An amazing and detailed documentary about the extinction of the dinosaurs. Watch it by clicking on the title. Select the episodes in the proper order. If you want to watch it with English subtitles (the best option, I have to say), click on the icon.
  • Stargate: This is a film about an Egyptologist who finds a portal to another galaxy where an Egyptian-like civilisation lives.
  • The mummy: This is a story about mummies, mystery, action, suspense, romance and humour. Brendan Fraser is the perfect comic adventurer.
  • The mummy returns: The sequel to 'The mummy' with a very scary Scorpion King.
  • The mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor: The third film of the saga now arrives in China with the amazing terracotta warriors with more humour and action than ever.

Anne of Green Gables

Do you remember Anne Shirley? Of course you do. Here is a small preview of the TV series. I know you really like this scene: Anne starts school in Avonlea and she meets Gilbert Blythe. If you remember, Anne doesn't like her red hair, and Gilbert teases her by calling her 'carrots'. Due to Anne's ill temper, Gilbert suffers and ends up with a broken slate over his head.

The Big Bang theory

This American TV show has been entertaining teenagers and grown-ups for a while now. Here is a scene when these 'nerds' turn out to be 'jerks', as Penny says. Please, pay attention to the pronunciation. It's quite different, isn't it? Have fun!!!
