Practising the language

Here you can find a lot of different worksheets to practise the language. You can see there are plenty of them and from diverse areas.

* 'Tv.com' - A webpage where you can find information about different TV shows and series. 

* 'Internet movie database' - A magnificent page where you can look for information about the film industry. 
* 'Anne of Green Gables' - A webpage to watch Anne's wonderful story.
* 'Road to Avonlea' - Another page with charming Lucy Maud Montgomery's tales.  

Dictionaries

Here you can find several links where you will be able to look up words you don't know. You will also have the chance to listen to these words by clicking on the speaker. Bear in mind that all pronunciations are valid (though, as you know, I prefer the British accent)

Listening

* 'LibriVox' - A webpage where you can listen to audiobooks, download them or even burn them onto a CD.

* 'TED: Ideas worth speading' - An interesting page where you can listen to people talk about any topic (with subtitles) you can think of. (Don't read the translation into Spanish; it's not very good.)

Bibliography

* "365 proverbios, refranes y dichos del inglés que deberías conocer" - An interesting handbook to look for idioms in English with their origin and translation into Spanish. Bear in mind that idioms are the more difficult thing to learn in a foreign language. 

Phonetics

* 'PhoTransEdit' - Check your pronunciation. Type the word and find out its phonetic transcription in English. If you are one of my students, please click on RP (Received Pronunciation)

Literature

* 'The literature network' - An amazing webpage where you can read full and unabridged classic texts from English literature. You can also take quizzes or have a look at loads of biographies.

* 'A celebration of women writers' - A wonderful page where you can read novels, essays, poems, etc. from great female writers.
