Art through the ages

Our lesson plan in Art this school year  in grade 6th is 'Art through the ages'.

I am introducing the subject with an explanation,  a presentation  on the digital board and a video about Altamira and Prehistoric Art.

Here are some examples made by my students:

Our first activity through History was about the Celts, that is, Stonehenge. The students did a great job drawing the stones and using watercolours to finish their paintings. See for yourselves!

Moving on! Now we are studying the mysterious and amazing Ancient Egypt. This year, The bust of Nefertiti is our main task.
First, the students worked on a symmetry. Then, they coloured the drawing, doing, as always, a fantastic job. Here you can check the final result:

Our next craft is related to our ancient history: The Iberians.
I thought that the children would be quite motivated if we made a cardboard shield, a caetra. Thank goodness I was not mistaken! The kids did an amazing job. Have a look!

Ancient Greece brought us a caryatid this month. A very difficult work, indeed! But, as I have expected, my students excelled at it. Have a look, please!

This year, the MARQ was supposed to held an exhibition of The terracotta warriors of Xi'an. However, it was not possible in  the end.
Nevertheless, I decided to honour these magnificent statues with an activity.
Check it out!

Our last activity was a clay workshop to create a lucerna, that is, an oil lamp. We spent all morning making this craft from the Roman period. This was the perfect closure for a very special year.
